Franco Volcano’s EP release show!
Our psychedelic punk mates from Portsmouth are releasing their first EP and have kindly invited TOOTH and vexmantra down the M27 for a party!
Franco Volcano put on a great live show, a perfect mix of punk attitude and prog/psych chops, with a sprinkling of comedy for good measure!
TOOTH are a 3-piece playing their own special brand of “groove rock”, expect riffs aplenty!
Friday 2nd May – Heartbreakers (M2TM Semi-Final 2)

After we won the judge’s vote for M2TM Heat 5, the road to Bloodstock is a little closer!
Come and join us as we battle with the mighty Savini, Held Under, Compounds, and Badmouth, for the road to glory is littered with broken amplifiers and smashed drum skins!

We’re taking part in Metal 2 The Masses! M2TM is a battle of the bands competition to win a slot at Bloodstock, one of the UK’s most renowned metal festivals!
Come and watch us in some friendly competition with CharlieNoise, Dukes of Hades, and Shiversa!
Saturday 18th January – The Hobbit
Starts 7.30pm; Entry £2.50 after 8pm
We return to The Hobbit once again, but this time it’s our first headline show at this awesome venue! Joining us are the phenomenal Franco Volcano (psych-punk) and Sonne (post-rock)!
Note: Remember to bring ID, the venue requires it on the door.

Saturday 12th October – Suburbia
A last minute support slot for the mighty Red Method! Sadly original supports Thuum had to drop out due to illness, so we stepped up to join post-apocalyptic thrashers Terraborn to give Red Method a crowd ripe for moshing!
Friday 16th August – The Railway Inn
Doors: 7.30pm; Tickets: £10 (advance), £13 (on the door)
Returning to the Railway Inn for 2024, vexmantra will be supporting our friends the tremendous Eclipse Machine for an evening of progressive and psychedelic music! We are joined by ambient post rock outfit Sonne and rifflords Nightworks.
Please purchase tickets in advance if possible! It’s a massive help for the venue and all the bands!
Saturday 13th July – Beggars Fair 2024

Back again for another year! Your pals in vexmantra will be onstage nice and early at the Olive Tree, bringing some new material as well as a couple of “classics” (by our standards anyway!) Times are subject to change but rest assured we’ll keep you posted with any developments!
Please note: Romsey will be extremely busy during Beggars Fair and it is highly recommended to use public transport!
Saturday 1st June – The Hobbit, Southampton
Progressive Metal connoisseurs Eclipse Machine are bringing their eclectic style to The Hobbit, alongside Andromedous, Prion Son, and your very own vexmantra! If you’re into the likes of Porcupine Tree, Opeth, Haken, Pendulum, do not miss this show!
Music starts 7:30pm and free entry before 8pm!
NOTE: The Hobbit is 18+ and ID must be provided, they make no exceptions to this rule.

Thursday 2nd May – The Stage Door, Southampton
This part of “The Stage Door Sessions”, a partnership between The Stage Door and SoCo Music Project to showcase musical talent in Southampton. There will be four bands in total. If you want to support live music in Southampton, this is a good gig to do it! More details as we get them….

Sunday 28th January – The 1865, Southampton
vexmantra are returning to The 1865 for the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity 32nd Grand Finale!
GOCC (or “Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy” (WOŚP) in Polish) supports healthcare in Poland by helping to fund the purchase of medical equipment. The Grand Finale is an annual fundraiser which brings together many Polish communities around the world.
This is a free event, but do consider making a donation!

Our first gig for 2024! An intimate evening show at The Art House, a warm and cozy performance space in Southampton. We will be joined by stoner rock mad lads Ivy Park, who will be making their live debut at this show!

With Charlie Smith, Utter Buskers, and My Black Poison.

vexmantra returns to The Angel once again, and we are joined by three other fantastic acts!
Charlie Smith is a singer-songwriter with a chillingly sweet, raw, and emotive sound.
Utter Buskers are a merry band of experienced musicians playing folk influenced music and originals.
My Black Poison are a power trio from Southampton bringing you an alternative rock sound with the energy and drive of classic punk era.
In early 2023, deadprofessors became vexmantra after we parted ways with our founding bassist.
