Info for venues/promoters
vexmantra play original prog/metal/electronic rock. Everything we write is focused on our live sound, no overdubs in our recorded material. What you hear is what you get live. We strive to have a raw edge, no click tracks, no backing tracks, samples are triggered by the drums (they follow us, we don’t follow them). Organic with a sprinkle of electronics is a good description.
We are a three piece amalgamation of different influences: Tom (guitar) bringing strong metal influences, heavy riffs, intricate melodies and crafted solos; Mike on bass adding hardcore mixed with ‘drum and bass’, melodic, driving and resonant; Colin on drums adding a touch of classic rock and post rock, grooves, swing and fills. On top of this we layer/trigger electronic and dance influenced samples of synth, vocals, sounds and video. Introverted to chaotic, we play the whole spectrum.
We are based in Southampton but happy to travel. We love playing live music so much we will play any venue, event or festival! We are best appreciated with a loud PA and lots of alcohol.

vexmantra is an instrumental rock trio playing original music blending rock, metal and electronica. Their music spans from trippy ballads, through intricate prog to balls out heavy rock. Hailing from Southampton, growing from the seeds of the city’s grassroots music scene, the band is unapologetic in playing music they get a kick from, no genre limits here. The heart of the band’s live show is telling stories of life’s journey using music, sound and video, a powerful and multidimensional experience. Branding
The band’s name should be all one word “vexmantra”. All lower case is preferred but not essential.

You can use our logos for any promotional media such as posters, articles, social media etc. Please keep the logo in proportion and kindly do not re-colour it. Monochrome is fine.
